Period charm meets luxurious living

A large luxury thatched cottage, sleeps eight. Four en-suite bedrooms. Wood burner. Beautiful garden. Hot tub.
Situated in one of the oldest, prettiest parts of Minehead, you’ll find this beautiful thatched cottage. Sleeping eight, it’s a large house with four comfortable en-suite bedrooms – all individually designed.
The impressive cream country kitchen is fully equipped with a butler's double sink, range-style cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and separate fridge, plus lots of storage. For informal dining, there's a rustic wooden table and six chairs. You'll find a fridge-freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer in the small lobby off the kitchen. From the kitchen another door opens out into a boot room with a recycling point, cleaning cupboard, and yet more storage for coats and shoes.
The dining room overlooks the small terrace garden at the rear of the house. This long, bright room has seating for eight. Entertainment in this room includes an iPod and, for the children, a well-stocked toy chest. A high-chair is available upon request.
There is a sumptuous sitting room at Pilgrim Corner. Spacious and airy, it can comfortably seat ten or more in sofas, armchairs and window seats. A bureau, which is tucked in a corner next to the squint window (used in past times to see who was at the front door), contains writing materials, guide books and visitor information packs. A wood-burning stove adds a cosy feel on colder nights. There's a selection of games, jigsaws and puzzles for all ages. And, for your digital delight, there's a large HD TV with Sky, Netflix and a Blu-ray player.
A beautiful cottage-style garden and circular hot tub complete the property. From the flagstone terrace the full extent of the garden is almost hidden. Walk further along the path and the garden gradually reveals itself. If you are very lucky, at this moment you'll hear the clock strike in the nearby St Michael's Church that forms an imposing backdrop to the scene.
Passing terraced beds of spring or summer flowers you'll go through the rose arch and find yourself in a secret garden with its secluded summerhouse 'Pilgrim's Folly', perfect for long, lazy afternoons. And that's where you'll find the hot tub and changing cabin.
As with all our cottages, Pilgrim Corner is suitable for families with children, couples and larger adult-only groups. Dogs are welcome on request. Linen and central heating are included in the rental (please bring your own beach towels for use in the hot tub).
There is roadside parking 50 yards away from the property.
As it is located next door to The Old Sweet Shop, which sleeps eight, we can now accommodate larger parties, depending on availability. Please contact us for more details.
Pilgrim Corner has been awarded the Customer Choice Award from cottages.com two years running, in 2016 and 2017. This award is based on guest feedback provided to independent review site Reevoo over 12 months.
